Parent - Child Classes

Parent Infant (6-18 months)
This class requires a parent/guardian to accompany the infant into the water. The main focus is on water adjustment for the infant. Songs and games will be used to build a sense of comfort in the water while having fun. This class is a great way to meet other parents and infants. Infants must wear tight fitting rubber pants over diaper/swim diaper.  Class size is limited to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 participants.

Parent Toddler (18-36 months)
This class requires a parent to accompany the toddler into the water. The main focus is on building swimming readiness by emphasizing fun in the water. Parents and toddlers will be lead in songs and games as toddlers learn basic skills that will be expanded upon once he/she enters the Learn to Swim Levels. Those toddlers not toilet trained need to wear tight fitting rubber pants over diaper/swim diaper. Class size is limited to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 participant.

Swim Diaper Policy
Children not toilet trained must wear vinyl/rubber pants with tight fitting elastic openings over a traditional diaper or swim diaper. The vinyl/rubber pants are available for sale at the Zesiger Center Proshop for $4.

Preschool Aquatic Program

Beginning Beavers (3-4 years)
This class begins the child's on-your-own experiences in the water and is the first class without the parent in the water. Because of this, class sizes are kept small with only 4 students. Students will learn basic swimming readiness such as bubble blowing, floating on back with assistance and underwater exploration. This class is taught on a tot-dock so that the students can stand in the pool versus hanging on the side of the pool. Parental supervision within the same pool area is required during lessons.

Intermediate Beavers (3-4 years)
This is a continuation of Beginning Beavers. Class size is still small with only 4 students and is taught on a tot-dock. This class will continue to develop the swimming readiness skills to prepare the student for the Learn to Swim Level program. Parental supervision within the same pool area is required during lessons.

Advanced Beavers (4 years - 4 years 11 months)
This class is for those that have taken intermediate beavers a couple of times and are ready to enter the Learn to Swim Level Program, but would still like a smaller class setting taught on the tot-dock. This class will cover some of the items in the Level 1 program, but still in the small class setting with only 4 students.Parental supervision within the same pool area is required during lessons.
