All MIT undergraduate/graduate students who have paid tuition and student life activity fees for the current academic year. Students must obtain a valid Student ID at the MIT Card Office.
MIT Student Family
Family memberships are available for spouses and up to two dependents. Spouses must obtain a valid Spouse ID at the MIT Card Office.
Cross Registered Student
Any student from another college simultaneously registered for class(es) at MIT for the current semester. Must obtain a valid ID at the MIT card office.
A current MIT employee with verifying identification, including Whitehead Institute and Lincoln Laboratory staff.
MIT Postdoctoral Associates and Fellows also qualify. MIT Postdoctoral Fellows require an authentication letter. Please follow this link for more information on how to obtain the required authentication letter from the Office of the VPR/Postdoctoral Affairs.
Any adult retired from MIT with 10 years of service and is receiving benefits is eligible for Faculty/Staff membership rate. Must obtain a valid Retiree ID at the MIT Card Office.
This membership is designated for MIT Employees that bike to work. Bike Commuter members have access to the Zesiger Center from 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM Monday - Friday for an early morning workout and/or shower.
Any MIT graduate. Must obtain a valid MIT Alumni ID at the MIT Card Office.
An "Affiliate" is defined as a member of the MIT Community who is not a regular employee, student, alumni, or spouse/partner of an MIT Community member. Examples include contractors, vendors, and next source employees. Must obtain a valid Affiliate ID at the MIT Card Office.
Friends of MIT
Any adult, 18 years-of-age or older, who does not have current MIT affiliation through other membership categories. Will be presented with an MIT Recreation access ID Card with the purchase of a membership at our main desk.
Any individual who is a spouse/partner of the MIT affiliate and dependents under 18 years of age or under the age of 23 with a valid student ID. A spouse/partner must provide proof of the same residence as the primary member (a valid driver’s license/lease with both names). Spouses/partners of MIT faculty or staff and students must go to the MIT card office to obtain their spousal cards. Please click button below for youth policies. Parent/guardian of children must supervise minor family members in the same activity area during youth access hours.
