MIT Recreational Sports is an Authorized Provider of American Red Cross Courses. We offer Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor Training, CPR for the Health Care Provider, and First Aid courses throughout the year. We also offer re-certification courses for individuals who's certifications are about to expire, for full information see Health and Safety Classes and Water Based Classes for detailed information.
All American Red Cross Classes are open to the students & staff of MIT as well as the public. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. If we do not have our minimum enrollment 4 days prior to the class start date, the class will be canceled.
You can register online or in person at the building:
1) Sign up online Click Here For All Red Cross Class Schedules
* If you’ve never had a membership here before and/or you’ve never taken a class with us before, you’ll need to create an account, which can take up to 48 hours to be verified and activated. You will receive an email when this has been done, and then you can return to the site and register for the class.
* If you have had a membership here or taken a class here in the past, you will already have an account with us and can enter your email address to gain access to your online account.
2) Sign up in person at the Main Desk of the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center (120 Vassar Street, Cambridge MA 02139) during any of our operational hours: Monday through Friday 6a-11p, Sat 7a-9p, and Sun 9a-11p.
This is the fastest way to secure yourself a spot in the class. Payment is required at the time of registration; we accept cash, check, Master Card, Visa or Discover
