Demetris Chambliss is a 23-year-old New Orleans native with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Howard University and is currently a graduate student at Lesley University, specializing in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Music Therapy. During the day, he’s the new full-time swim instructor and lifeguard for MIT Recreation, bringing six years of experience in Aquatics to the Aquatics team. Demetris is a certified Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, CPR Instructor, and Pool Operator. Beyond the pool, his passions include cooking, doing hair, and playing his instruments. Additionally he’s also a proud member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. In his free time, he loves exploring new cultures through travel, making connections, and creating positive waves in the world.
