At MIT Recreation, were proud to highlight the dedication of our incredible lifeguard team, who train monthly to uphold the highest standards of safety and readiness. To celebrate their commitment, our Aquatic Coordinator of Lifeguards has introduced a new event; the MIT Recreation Lifeguard Games – a fun and friendly competition designed to test and celebrate our guards’ skills, knowledge, and teamwork.
The Mission: The Lifeguard Games aim to challenge our team in a dynamic way, encouraging collaboration, quick thinking, and a bit of healthy competition.
The competition includes three exciting sections:
Relay Events (5 events): Test speed, coordination, and teamwork.
Rescue Scenarios (2 events): Evaluate rescue response and decision-making.
Individual Challenges (8 events): Highlight each guard’s unique skill set.
With each team able to gain points in each section to decide who the overall winners will be.
