Matthew Mijares
Matt has been a NASM certified personal trainer since 2020, starting at the local gym that he trained at since he was 14. Matt’s fitness journey began by lifting weights to maintain a healthier weight and supplement his baseball training, but this growing love of weight training eventually led to him becoming a competitive powerlifter and personal trainer. He has since competed at multiple powerlifting meets, including USAPL Massachusetts State Championships, and aims to compete at nationals in the near future. Since becoming a trainer, he has worked with a diverse group of clients including amateur athletes, retirees, and everyday people looking to be more active and healthy. He has also taught various strength, conditioning, and core-focused group exercise classes, giving him the ability to train with anyone at any level.
Matt’s training philosophy prioritizes strength and flexibility to create a strong base for the client to build around. By making these the pillars of an exercise program, the client will not only see progress in their goals, but also improvements in their everyday lives.
