Are you a dedicated high school athlete (grades 9-12) looking to gain a competitive edge? This summer, join the MIT Athletic Performance Lab for an intensive 9-week instructional program designed to build a powerful foundation for long-term athletic success. Train in the state-of-the-art MIT Sport Performance Center under the guidance of our CSCS-certified strength and conditioning coaches, who bring a combined 40+ years of experience working with athletes at the high school and collegiate levels.
Program Logistics
● Dates: June 1st – August 6th (Closed June 29 – July 5 for Mid-Summer Break)
● Time: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Thursday)
● Location: MIT Sport Performance Center, 120 Vassar St, Cambridge, MA.

STEP 1: Create a guest account (for the athlete)
STEP 2: Purchase a class package. (Package > Category: Leave blank > Type: Group Class > Amount Of Sessions: Leave blank > Search Packages)
STEP 3: Once you receive correspondence from Coach Byron, fill out the requisite paperwork.
STEP 4: Book your sessions (we recommend using the mobile app) starting 3/15.
Our comprehensive program focuses on developing the critical components of athletic performance:
● Strength: Master proper lifting techniques for upper body, lower body, and core, by progressively building strength and stability.
● Speed: Enhance your acceleration, deceleration, and agility through expert instruction in efficient linear and lateral movement mechanics.
● Mobility: Improve joint health, flexibility, and functional strength with dynamic drills and proven movement strategies to optimize movement quality.
● Explosiveness: Unleash your power with targeted plyometrics, throws, olympic lift variations, and jump training.

● Data-Driven Progress: We employ cutting-edge technology, including Force Plates, laser-timed speed assessments, Reactive Strength Index (RSI) measurement, and Velocity Based Training (VBT), alongside detailed analysis of jump metrics and strength assessments, to precisely measure and track your progress. This allows you to see tangible results and optimize your training.
● Expert Coaching: You’ll be coached by experienced and certified strength and conditioning professionals with a combined 40+ years of experience and a proven track record, including training over 500 All-American athletes. You’ll receive personalized attention and expert guidance to help you reach your individual goals.
● World-Class Facilities: Train in an expansive, 8,000+ square-foot, high-performance environment, the same facility used by MIT’s varsity teams. Our facility boasts 20+ racks, a turf sprinting and training area, and pneumatic resistance equipment.
● Foundational Principles: Our program emphasizes building a strong athletic base through optimized movement patterns, progressive overload, and injury prevention strategies.
Total Flexibility: The “Flex-Pass” Model
We know summer is busy with vacations, college visits, and sport-specific camps. Our session-pack model allows you to purchase a block of training and use it whenever you want throughout the summer.
● Use It Your Way: Come 4 days one week and 1 day the next—your sessions stay on your account.
● Summer Window: Sessions are valid Monday through Thursday from June 1st to August 6th.
● Consistent Schedule: Training runs daily from 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM.
